HAPPY NEWS - July 30th, 2009 Calypso has found a wonderful home and is settling in with her new family. Stay tuned for pictures coming soon! Thanks to the SW Washington Shelter and Ellena Thomas for helping Callie to get into her forever home!
UPDATE - June 26th, 2009
Calypso is back in the shelter and desperately needs a new home now! Due to changing circumstances for her new owner, Calypso had to be returned to the shelter and is in danger of being euthanized if they run out of space. The is in no way Calypso's fault and is not a reflection on her. Cali is an awesome girl, very smart, loving and protective. She would make a wonderful addition to a home that understands and respects guardian breeds. Calypso has been fixed, is fully vaccinated and wormed, and now very healthy.
PLEASE MEET CALYPSO
Calypso needs a home and we pray you can help.
Calypso is an 'Italian Mastweiler'. That means she is 1/2 Cane Corso, 1/4 Rottweiler, and 1/4 English Mastiff.
This young girl is very special. She was turned into the shelter in Washington and, at only just barely 2 years old, had been used for breeding, apparently several times.
The shelter evaluator was very impressed with her. She is sweet, loving and attentive. She LOVES people and warms up very quickly. She has a strong guardian instinct and watches out for everyone - people and puppies. She especially seems to like children.
Calypso is confident, very smart and curious about her surroundings. We took her to our training field, and she was anxious to get in the game. She has some basic obedience, and clearly wants to please. But once she bonds with you, she does not want you out of her sight.
Given what we've seen with her so far, we believe Calypso will make an awesome family protection and companion dog. She is young and wants a job. Obedience training is a must, but we think she could excell at protection work as well!
Calypso aches for a family of her own! Perhaps you can give her the love and attention she deserves? In return, she will guard you with her life.
Calypso developed Kennel Cough at the shelter (as many dogs do who spend much time there). We presently have her in our home and are treating this, so that she can regain her health and go to an awesome home!
Please give this wonderful girl a chance! You won't regret it!
If you would like to provide Calypso with a loving home, please contact us. We'll be happy to tell you all about this wonderful dog. She is a real gem!
